A first for Stewart Whisky Company and very much a passion project, this glorious blended malt is elegantly sherried, rich, complex and balanced. A subtle spiciness on the finish gives it a warming beauty making it a perfect companion as the autumn chill draws in. This first release is split between the UK and the United States with less than 500 bottles in total produced.
Named for the romantic ruins of the Black Castle of Moulin in the Atholl countryside north of Pitlochry, this first batch is a whisky-lovers blended malt and already one of our favourite bottlings to date.
After we initially shipped a couple of cases-worth across the ocean to our good friends and US importers, Monongahela Whiskey Exchange, it was clear to them (as it was to us) that this is a special spirit. They couldn't bear the wait to tell the world and intrepidly entered the whisky into the American Distilling Institute where it took home a fair bit of hardware!
