Cam ye by Athole
The heart of the Scottish Highlands, the ancient district of Atholl is a place of stunning natural beauty, alive with history and traditions. This part of Scotland - in particular the rolling hills around the village of Pitlochry - holds a very special place in my heart. The changing seasons mark the passage of time that otherwise seems to stand still in upland meadows, running burns and in the shadows of mountains.
Named for a popular folk song written by James Hogg, this painting is inspired by an autumnal landscape of the Atholl countryside and appears on our Single Cask Bottling of Blair Athol 12YO 2008.
